The Tomah Timberwolves (2-6, 1-5 MVC) travel to Veterans Memorial Field at UW-La Crosse to square off against the Central Red Raiders (2-6, 1-5 MVC) for tonight’s final game of the regular season. While five teams from the MVC will be advancing to the playoffs, both of these teams will be wrapping up their seasons tonight.

What to watch for:

The battle of young quarterbacks

Since filling in for injured Junior Quarterback Peter Brey, Sophomore Connor Prielipp has stepped up for the Timberwolves. While Tomah is only 1-2 since Prielipp has been under center, they were very competitive against the Onalaska Hilltoppers losing by just one possession.

For the Red Raiders, Junior Matt Johnson has learned the spread offense very well leading the team with 590 yard passing yards and 488 yards on the ground.

Building momentum into next season

It’s been a different story for the two teams this year. The Timberwolves have fallen from their 3rd place finish in the MVC last season, while the Red Raiders have improved from their 0-9 campaign in 2015. Both teams need a win here to build momentum heading into next season.

Last game for Seniors

With a handful of seniors on both teams playing their final game tonight, emotions will be high. Which cast of seniors can end their high school (and possibly entire) football career with a win?
